Willkommen! Unsere Sprachreise Malta 2024!

Popeye Village
Our host family has been truly amazing during our stay. They are incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel at home. The food they prepare is delicious, especially the dishes the host fathers cooks for us. We feel so comfortable and cared for in their home. This experience has been fantastic, and we are grateful for their hospitality.
Valletta
Valletta is a small capital, there are only 6000 people living in Valletta. This city has not always been Malta´s capital, the first capital of Malta was actually Mdina. The streets of Valletta are old and go parallel, and the city is surrounded by big walls.
Mdina & Rabat
On the fifth day of our stay in Malta we went to the old capital of Malta. Only94 people live in Mdina nowadays and most of them are rich one or even from royal families. A ancestor of the Spanish royal family still lives in the biggest mansion of Mdina which has about 50 rooms.
Gozo & Comino
On Sunday, I had to wake up very early. At around 7 a.m., I had breakfast. My roommate stayed in bed because he had a headache. After breakfast, I went to the bus stop to meet my classmates. After some time, the bus arrived, and we drove to a harbor where we took a ferry to another island. Our tour guide told us that the island named Gozo has got an amazing history. We explored the city, and the guide provided us with a lot of information. In the city, we had a short break and visited a very beautiful castle. There’s a little fun fact about the castle: this large building has only got one toilet. 😊 Afterwards, we went by bus to a small market where we could taste traditional homemade food from Gozo. That was great, and we bought a lot of things. Our last stop with the bus was a harbor, where we had to wait for our speedboats to take us to the island of Comino. At the speedboat, we had so much fun; it went so fast, and almost everyone got wet. On the island, we were allowed to go for a swim. The sea was breathtaking, and we had a really great time, but we also had to be very careful because the waves were really strong. After some time, the speedboat picked us up again and took us back to Malta. The ride back was amazing; we had so much fun, and our teachers got very wet, but they enjoyed it as well. We will never forget this great day.
School Day
Tuesday, September 17th, 2024
We woke up at 07:30 a.m. After brushing our teeth, we packed our lunch and drinks. This morning we got some sandwiches with ham and salad. Then we walked to school at 08:15 and arrived there at 08:45. So we had some 15 minutes left to eat and drink before lessons started.
At 09:00 school began and we needed to get to our classrooms. There were eleven students in our class. During our lessons we wrote an email to someone, we learned some common sayings and we watched a short video in order to be able to answer some questions. Then we had a break for 30 minutes. After the break we finished watching the video and then we talked to each other about it.
On Tuesday we had lessons in the morning and in the afternoon. So after lunchbreak at 12:30 we started again at 1 p.m. In the afternoon we had a new teacher. With her we played games and watched short videos with Mr. Bean. We also played a game called Word Guess. It was quite hard, but lots of fun. During the next break we could go to the cafeteria on the buildings roof top terrace. After this last break we played hang man which was a lot of fun too. There were some tricky words, but also some easy ones. After some time we switched to a music quiz game, where we had to fill in the missing words of the lyrics. That was fun, but sometimes quite difficult as well.
After school that day it was still raining a bit, so we went home because this long school day was quite exhausting.
South of Malta + Sea Playground
At 9:15 am we were going to the bus stop. We went by bus to the Blue Grotto, where we wanted to take a ride with the boat, but the sea was too rough for the trip with the boat.
